Current Fee: Your investment in the judge's time is a reasonable $400 per hour. There are no administrative, processing or facility fees for hearings in his facility. His minimum fee is $3,200 for a full day (8 hours of prep and mediation) or $2,000 per ½ day (5 hours of prep and mediation) for typical cases unless a waiver is granted. The judge prefers to handle matters at his facility, but he will gladly travel, at a minimal charge, to any place that may be more convenient for the parties.

Scheduling a Case: If you wish to schedule a matter, just call 916 483-2222 and leave a message or click O for his assistant. The judge's assistant will assist you in finding a suitable date. You can then complete a New Case Intake Form on his website ( and transmit the form to the judge. Once that form is received, a contract, which will confirm all aspects of your agreement, will be emailed to all parties. This contract, among other things, will explain the procedure for filing briefs and for payment of fees. If the assistant is unable to find a suitable date for you on the judge's calendar, please ask to speak to him personally to see if he can rearrange his calendar to suite your needs.
